Amina's story is why we do what we do.

When Amina lost both parents at the age of twelve, her grandmother became her sole caregiver. The family had no reliable income, and school fees were out of the question. Amina's future narrowed to a single, heartbreaking possibility: she would join the millions of girls across Uganda forced to abandon their education. Then a community health worker told her grandmother about Hearts for child. Within weeks, Amina was enrolled in our scholarship programme. She received uniforms, books, sanitary supplies, and — most importantly — a dedicated mentor who met with her every week. Today, Amina is in her second year of nursing training. She plans to return to her village after qualifying, to serve the community that raised her.

Every journey is unique. Every voice matters.

Peter's Tech Journey

From unemployed to IT entrepreneur

After completing our digital literacy and coding programme, Peter launched a small IT services business that now employs three other young people from his community in Lira.

Removed from a situation of exploitation through our child protection intervention, Sarah now lives in a safe foster arrangement and has returned to school with renewed confidence.
